Meet our newest Board Members!

Dee Johnson, Membership Director

Dee lives in Perryville, and joined MWGA last season.  At the age of 22, she was infected with the "dreaded golf virus", and hasn't found a cure to date.  After an eight year hiatus, Dee says she reacquainted herself with this infectious sport, and played in the Amateur and Mid-Amateur this past season...

"Wow, what an experience! Awesome.... I met a truly inspiring and delightful group of “infected’ women who reminded me why this is such a great game, and why I love it so.  It was then I decided to become more involved in the organ-ization.  Initially, I got involved to learning Course Rating, and most recently, as Membership Director."

Dee has been happily married for 20 years to  her husband, Jim (also infected), and they share many interesting moments on the course. Dee is a Certified Personal Trainer, and along with golf, she loves her two German Shepherds...Sadie and Buddy.  She loves to fish, and  root for her Kansas City Chiefs, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

 Beth Chancellor, Rules Director

Beth has been a member of MWGA for four years and a Board member for two years, serving as Membership Director. She picked up the game of golf in her mid-twenties but only began focusing on improving her game in the last few years.

Even though she has only played 4-5 individual competitive events, she says "I am an uber-golf enthusiast and play golf rain or shine, hot or cold. Golf gives me physical and stress relief from my everyday, workaholic life."  Beth is a strong supporter of the Columbia Golf Foundation and the Missouri Women's Golf Association.  'Growing the game of golf through knowledge of the rules, instruction, scholarship and opportunities for young people is important to me.'

June Halsor
Secretary

June was born in Georgia and you will still hear some of her southern accent.  Meeting her husband in college in Ohio, they will celebrate their 50th anniversary next year.  The Halsors have three great children and seven wonderful grandchildren.  They manage to stay very close even though spread out throughout the U.S....  After retirement, the Halsors moved permanently to the Lake of the Ozarks seventeen years ago... "The lake is centrally located and gives our family a place to unite so needless to say, we have a busy summer!".

June has worked as an executive secretary, owned a gift shop, has been a teacher and a sales training coordinator.  Very active in her church, she is already serving as Secretary for many committees as well as MWGA.  "I didn't become active in golf until age 48, but now I'm obsessed with it!"

June has been a member of MWGA for five years and really enjoys all the ladies she has met.  "This is a great organization to actually learn what golf for women is all about, and I look forward to serving on your board as Secretary."

Pam Knoll
Tournament Director

Pam lives between Westphalia and Freeburg Missouri..."in other words not close to anything".  Pam was a late bloomer into the world of golf.  Before golf she played lots of recreational softball and racquetball.  She thought, "golf just didn't have enough action".  But in her mid-30s she decided to give it a try and was immediately hooked.

After encouraging her son to play many competitive tournaments and then division 1 college golf, she thought she better give competitive golf a try.  "I found out it is very nerve wracking. .. So needless to say the MWGA 2-lady scramble is my favorite!"

Pam and Jan Theilemeier will be the Tournament Directors for the next two years.  During the winter when it's too cold to golf you can find them at the bowling alley with other golfers from Meadow Lake Acres Country Club!

You can contact Pam or Jan at

Jan Thielemier
Tournament Director

Jan lives in Jefferson City with Frank,  her husband of 42 years. They have two wonderful children and two beautiful energetic grandchildren.  "I entered the wonderful world of golf at the age of 40 and immediately discovered it to be the most challenging and addictive sport I have ever played.  Simply put, I LOVE IT!"

Jan has been a member of the MWGA for around five years and participated in six tournaments with the Two Lady Scramble being her favorite.  When not playing golf, Jan loves to read and bowl with her golfing friends and spend time with her family.

"I have met some awesome ladies in this organization and I'm very proud to be a part of it.  I look forward to the next two years serving along with Pam Knoll as Tournament Directors."
